I had the pleasure of visiting the Eric Carle Museum about a year ago. Located in Amherst, MA, it displays children's book illustrations. On the day I went, it just so happened that Chris Raschka, the 2006 winner of the Caldecott Award, was speaking. Not only was he entertaining, but he told us how the words of a picture book inspire his drawings. I encourage anyone in the New England area, or anyone visiting this locale to head over to the museum. It's great fun!
