Scooter, The Library Hamster
Hello everyone,
So I mentioned that my icon is a pic of our dwarf hamster, Scooter. Scooter lives here in the Children's Room and has quite the following among our patrons. However, some people were shocked (rather impolitely, I might add) that Scooter is a DWARF hamster. Several responses to that fact have been : "Really? Are you sure???" or "Wow, that's a big dwarf hamster" or "That's one fat dwarf hamster!".
Let's be clear: perhaps I've been a little overzealous with her hamster treats. I often feel guilty that I get to skip home on Friday nights while she has to stay in the dark library over the weeked. But after so many people commented on her size, I took action. So I've scaled back on the treats and have had her out in her hamster ball more. It seems to have worked and she no longer has little rolls of fat over her front paws like she does in this pic. Anyway....
